"The Empire Hotel Queenstown oozes character and charm. Our room was simple but clean with lovely linen and the beds were very comfortable. Our check in at the front bar was easy and the staff were very friendly. Pub food was nicely done and it was a fantastic location straight across the road from the Wilderness Railway station in Queenstown. Lovely old town with friendly locals."

"We stayed in an apartment with 2 rooms. One room did not have a window, but one door that led to a room that was used for storing old mattresses and other discarded furniture. "We were given a warm welcome. Onto the room and it was spotless. Table and chairs, couch, comfy bed. Tea and coffee available. Microwave, kettle and toaster provided. "We started our NZ vacation here after landing in Christchurch and it was the perfect start. The pub served wonderful appetizers and desserts. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the bay--great for settling in and relaxation. The pool was cooler than I hoped. Breakfast is self-serve with limited but thoughtful options. Sharing facilities wasn't a problem, but there weren't many other guests during our stay. Staff was warmly welcoming and very accommodating. "
