I left the Salthouse at 8:30 am to attend an all day meeting. I returned after 5pm to find that my room had not been serviced - towels nor changed, bathroom not cleaned, bed not maid, bin not emptied and tea/coffee facilities not replenished.
I went to reception and spoke to TAYLOR - who did NOT apologise but told me to go to the car to wait whilst my room was cleaned. I was not offered any refreshments ( complimentary or not).
I waited until a member of the housekeeping team came to the bar to tell me that my room was now cleaned. Again, there was no apology.
The next morning on checkout, my bill fully paid, I asked to see the manager about a complaint.?
I was told that the most senior manager on site was the restaurant manager. When he arrived, Intokd hill about the non cleaning/servicing of my room the day before. He said he would pass my complaint on. I specifically asked for an email response to explain why my room was not cleaned/ serviced in Saturday 8 February .
I have not received any communication - email or otherwise from the Salthouse Hotel - to apologise for the shoddy service. I do not believe that they care and the experience as a solo female traveller left me feeling unvalued and substandard as a guest.
