A spacious place to enjoy with family or friends on 5 acres. 5 km from Bicheno, a short drive to Denison Beach or across the road to the golf course. With distant ocean views from almost every room, sun filled living areas, a cosy warm fire place and room for the kids to play, escape to Tasmania's beautiful East Coast.
Only 10 mins drive to Douglas Apsley and 40 mins to Freycinet National Park via the vineyards, enjoy the best of what Tassie has to offer, just over 2 hrs from Hobart or Launceston.
Ah the serenity! "It's peaceful" is the most frequent description from visitors so far.
The house is large - 300m2 - and can be configured in many different ways. There are three main bedrooms all with king size beds, and three other living areas, two of which can also be bedrooms with single beds(including daybeds and a full size single trundle). The house has three bathrooms, two ensuites and a main bathroom/laundry.
All the rooms are large with plenty of space for a maximum of ten plus infants. The house is a solar passive design facing north and north east with high ceilings and glass 'floor to ceiling' windows facing the ocean.
There are 5 acres of gardens including a dam, pasture and bush. You will look out on the garden, lawn and the picturesque dam with the ocean about a kilometre in the distance. You can hear the waves crash and see them if they are big enough.
The main kitchen is large with a table that will comfortably sit ten and plenty of equipment for large groups.
The East Wing is decorated in an Asian style inspired by the Japanese idea of wabi-sabi or perfect imperfection. Natural timbers, rattan and fibres combine in this special space.
The West Wing is a Moroccan inspired space, cosy leather, wool and alpaca textiles.
The main living area is a bit more of a mix. There is plenty of room for eating, socialising and enjoying the fire on a cosy couch or watching a footy match with friends.
There is ample parking with two covered carports and plenty of additional car spaces. The driveway is dirt but Rosedale Road is sealed.
You are located 5 km out of Bicheno just off the main East Coast Highway.
You can walk to the beach which is just over 1km or roughly 30 mins although it is a bit far for little kids or caring too much gear. A short drive to the beach might be best.
The golf course is walking distance down the other end of the block and just up the highway a short distance.
Nature World and car access to Denison Beach is a short drive.
Mobile phone coverage - there is no mobile phone coverage at the house. If you have a mobile phone with wifi calling capabilities and a mobile phone provider that supports wifi calling you can connect your mobile through the satellite internet. Otherwise you must resort to other calling methods over the internet like What's Ap or Messenger. Alternatively you could just enjoy the serenity. Those on the Optus network may get some reception.
Internet - you are connected to the world through Starlink. It's unlimited and pretty fast but there is some lag and disconnection at times because it is satellite based.
This is Australia and there may be poisonous snakes and spiders. Just stay away from them if you see them. In the guest information guide at the house there is a number to call if you really need help with them.
Cheers
