Worst experience, honestly screw this "host"
Where to even start, After a standard interaction with the "host" after booking with no red flags other than being asked to ID to an external email, but was then accepted it via Vrbo, we were given instructions to the keybox. It was alarmigly far from the property (half way up the neighbouring street) and slightly mislabled, the combination worked, however, the lockbox was empty. I immediately messaged to ask for assistance and was told "I will give you a call to assist you with this." I did not receive a call, the number listed was useless, I was contacted by somebody on WhatsApp using a personal Indian number saying that my reservation has been cancelled 20 minutes AFTER my check in time, after pressing I was informed this was "Due to mould and damp issue we are unable to host the guests at this property currently", the person on Vrbo messaged with no explanation or response to any questioning or reasoning only repeating that I was going to be refunded and apologising for the "inconvenience", which is farcical. The person on WhatApp was slightly more informing but also had almost comical responses e.g. "rest assured that you will get you full refund without any deductions." As if I would get charged for their issue. As this was over marathon weekend which brings many people to Brighton we think somebody booked the flat for longer or it was indeed mouldy and it was fraudulently advertised. Either way I would NOT recommend anybody book this property or with this "host"
