A terrific place for a small (4-6) family get away. We brought our kayaks, paddleboards and a canoe and enjoyed being able to put in off the floating dock. A sanctuary for sure with so much wildlife - from the deck we saw dolphins frolic and feeding, roseate spoonbills, american oystercatchers and so many more birds! On our paddle trips out to the gulf we saw rays and more dolphins. The sunrises are spectacular and the colors over the eastern sky at sunset are also very lovely. The evenings and early mornings are quiet at Fisherman's Paradise and the stars on a clear night are brilliant.
The kitchen is well stocked and easy to work, the showers take some time to learn the hot water system but it is HOT, the beds are super comfortable and the sheets high quality as are the towels.
A short walk and you are in the tourist hustle of Cedar Key. The gas station across the street has the basics - like beer and ice and chips. Otherwise bring your grocery needs.
Just FYI - be aware there is not a place for large gatherings - the deck has only a high top and a picnic table and the kitchen/dining/ gathering room is really a bar (I presume left over from when this was an actual café.) There is a small tv viewing area with a sectional sofa that can hold 4 easy or 6 cozy. I would also bring extra blankets if you tend to like to snuggle or get a chill. The beds have sheets and a blanket but no bedspreads and no extra blankets were found in the dressers.
Our family LOVED it and had a great time and would highly recommend!
