"While The Carpathia might have the formal credentials of a 4-star hotel, it has the service level and ambience of a simple motel. The staff was rude, breakfast was lousy and don’t get me started on the lukewarm, cramped jacuzzi which probably had worse water quality than most swamps. The room we had was simple, nothing special really. The best thing we can say about the Carpathia is that the cleaning was fine, but then again they had signs reminding us of being environmentally friendly, when they at the same time packed water glasses in plastic and had put up “sanitation” stickers… Doesn’t seem like the environment is of high priority to this hotel, otherwise they could implement several initiatives for more eco-friendly operations. Then again, the pool was really cold, so I guess they saved on the heating bill for that one."

"Fine hotel, but there’s room for improvement. Was traveling with my friend through Romania and this hotel was one of the less service minded. When we checked it the reception guy had limited English skills. Even in the restaurant there was lack of communication skills. But we manage to order anyway with pointing on the menu card :-) I would suggest the restaurant to welcomes their guest instead of looking scared at “English people” breakfast felt awkward. The food was nicely presented as tasted ok. The spa area was really great. It was clean and nice! Also with mentioning that they gave us a bucket with champagne, that’s awesome (but we don’t drink alcohol) "
