"The open-air bath on the balcony was great. The meals were okay but not as good as we have had at upscale onsen hotels. The shuttle bus service was good, although the bus was not equipped to handle large baggage that foreign tourists usually have. There is not much to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel so you need to have the shuttle take you to the area around the train station."

"The exterior looks old but the interior seems to have been renovated and it is in excellent condition including the room we were in. The private onsens are in outstanding condition, the public onsens are great although not as good. The breakfast was excellent with several Japanese and western dishes. The place is close enough to the train station to walk but far enough so that the noise of the town does not bother. "

"The hotel is old and in disrepair but everything works. The food is just adequate but the open bar with beer, sake, wine, shochu helps. The onsen was fine with one large rotemburo outside and three large baths of varying temperatures inside. The service was great though, the staff always greeted you with smiles and were very helpful. It’s a 23 minute walk uphill from the train station or an 800 yen ride by taxi. "

"Buffet variety for dinner and breakfast was great. Live sushi and tempura made in front of you. Huge selection! You also rent by the hour a private onsen which we did. Public onsen was okay. Had steam room and sauna and cold plunge area. Enough lockers and showe stalls. Extra towels and water stations were there. Rooms were big and separate rooms if you have 4 people. Mix of western bed and futons on the floor. "

"Hotellet var meget slidt og lugtede surt... Men selve værelset var ok og rent. Byen var ok og flot, men meget en hotel-by, vi ville hellere have boet længere inde i Hakone området. Man kunne ikke benytte hot-springs hvis man havde tatoveringer... Og hot-springs er opdelt i herre og dame... Stor morgen- og aftensmad buffet, men igen slidte omgivelser...."

"Family of 4 ( 2 young kids). Great location from the train station. Staff were friendly. The onsen (public and private) was fantastic. Beds were comfortable."
