Welcome to Heron Hollow! Enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, lounging on the spacious patio, cooking on the 3 in1 grill or relaxing in the hot tub watching phenomenal sunsets every evening beside the pond. This home provides a rare opportunity to stay on a private pond, amidst 430 acres of conservation land protected by The Nature Conservancy and The Audubon Society. The Long Pond-Ell Pond preserve is a Rhode Island treasure and the state’s only National Natural Landmark and provides extraordinary privacy. This exceptional home boasts over 450' of direct waterfront and 7.5+ acres of land surrounding. There are outdoor security cameras pointed at the waterfront and fire pit. You will find easy access to miles of hiking trails that stretch from Route 3 into Connecticut. Despite being in the heart of a conservation area, Heron Hollow is situated a short drive to many popular destinations: I-95 is a short 5 minute drive which allows for easy navigation throughout RI. Minutes from a variety of golf courses and restaurants. Less than 30 Minutes from Rhode Island's famous beaches; including: Westerly Town Beach, Misquamicut State Beach, Historic Watch Hill and Narragansett Bay. Less than 30 minutes to Historic Mystic Seaport, the Mystic Aquarium and Stonington Vineyards in Connecticut. Within 30 minutes to and from the Providence / Warwick Airport (PVD), as well as, to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. 40 minutes from Jamestown Island and Newport. 70th birthday gathering
We were 11 adults and one 4 year old, celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. The house was lovely, the setting was perfect, and the weather was a gift. We loved being able to kayak on the beautiful pond.

Great Place

Awesome Getaway Not Far From Boston
My friends and I had an incredible time at this property. Just an hour and a half from Boston, we were shocked to feel so "off the grid" and enjoy some peace and privacy. The house is beautiful, modern, and very accommodating for groups. We really enjoyed the access to the pond, hot tub, and space for outdoor fun. Would 10/10 recommend.

Camp
This place brought back fond memories of the summers my children and I stayed at my grandparents camp in Maine. It was so peaceful and the lake was just wonderful. There were lots of things to do places to hike and visit. The kayak and standing boards plus the slide were a great hit for our teenagers different people stayed at different times. So there was plenty of room or all. There were condiments in the fridge so we didn’t have to worry about bringing or buying them, the only complaint my family noted was that the ice maker could have been cleaner. Checkin was difficult due to the ineptness of VRBO, not the host. VRBO did not factually list my vacation, so it took several phone calls to them. MY famiLY loved the layout, location and amenities. It is not very assessible. I have trouble with balance and had to have help with the entrance and steps as there were no railings. The biggest problem was that the address stated 37A but it was really 45 Barrie., that caused some confusion. My family and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

Perfect Lake House
The property and location are awesome. They have all the amenities that you would need/want. Everything was clean and organized. Check in was very easy. We spent most of our days on the lake with the paddle boards or kayaks. It’s very secluded and peaceful out there. Would definitely stay again!

Rainy week
We managed to have a great time despite the cloudy, wet weather. The house was as advertised and there was plenty of room for us all. We swam, floated, kayaked and fished when the weather permitted and did a few day trips when it rained. We would definitely go back again and hope for more sunshine. We all agreed the best part of the house was its seclusion and privacy.

Amazing
This was my first time using VRBO. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Absolutely blown away once we arrived. Property was so beautiful and well taken care of. The views of the pond from the house were breathtaking. Nice quiet area where we were all able to clear our minds and enjoy some family time together. I would absolutely book this property again. Kids loved swimming and using the paddle boards and kayaks they had at the house. Inside the house was very clean. Living room was perfect for a family movie night.

Family Reunion
Family members from all over the USA and Caribbean enjoyed an unbelievable 4th of July party at Heron Hollow. Some of us not seeing one another for 10 years. It was the ideal location for varied ages of 2 months to 80 years. The quiet times. Fragrant smell of flowers, buzzing bees, birds chirping, bull frogs croaking, the brighest stars. Active times. Daredevils jumping off rock formations, sliding down pool slides, paddelboarding, kayaking, finding turtles, laughing. Laughter, healing, family love. Thank you Long Pond.

Nice but many issues
THE GOOD • Beautiful setting. • The pond swimming/kayaks/d paddleboards was enjoyed by all. • The size and openness of the house and the patio. THE NOT SO GOOD • Getting here. The house is at the end of a long dirt/gravel road. That is not the issue. However, there was a sign at the beginning of the road announcing “Private Property – No Trespassing” that you had to ignore. Also, all GPS systems used to get here said we had arrived well before we actually did. • The hot tub was drained and not functional • Coffee maker had not been cleaned. The brew chamber was a ‘swamp’ with coagulated algae or mold in the tank. • Latch handle to the storm door came off on our hand. • The shower soap/conditioner pumpers in guest house were non-functional. • A shelf in one bedroom fell off the wall with the weight of only a cell phone and small water bottle. • One refrigerator and one freezer section were warmer than they should be and soon afterward the alarm was going off. • The gas grill needed major cleaning. • The spare propane tank was empty even though we were told we had a full spare. • There was very little dish washer detergent. • Bedrooms (all on the second floor) were hot at night with little or no A/C or ventilation. • Even though the website states the facility is accessible, I can’t see how. For the price paid (after rental + VRBO fees + cleaning fees + taxes) I had higher expectations.

Gorgeous home on lovely, peaceful lake
Everything was fantastic: the setting, the spacious home carefully designed for togetherness and comfort. Everyone in our party loved the accommodations and enjoyed the house, which includes hot tub, coffee bar, separate office space, and several spaces to lounge around to talk, play games, and feast together

Community Gathering
This was a delightful gathering of dear friends who came across a few state borders to gather at this lovely spot and spend a weekend together. Beautiful, secluded with a wood stove, swimming and hot tub, it served the group perfectly. And if able we will definitely come again and again.

NYE weekend
My friends and I visited for New Years Eve weekend and it was the perfect space to gather us all together. The lake view was beautiful and the hosts came by to refilter the hot tub when we reached out to them. We also enjoyed using the grill and fire pit. Plenty of blankets, towels, etc! Overall a very memorable weekend

Destination Thanksgiving
This was our first Thanksgiving as a family at a rental property. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. The property is peaceful, secluded, and spacious. We enjoyed all the amenities on the property. The property manager was excellent. She was very professional, courteous, and had great communication. We will definitely rent this property in the future!

Picture perfect weekend
Wow! We had an amazing weekend celebrating my husband’s 40th birthday with friends. The host was so kind and left us a Birthday Welcome package. The house and property were exactly as pictured. The house was beautiful with many updates. Everything was clearly brand new from the furnishings, linens, kitchen utensils and decor. The host even provided an additional air mattress for us. The huge tv was a hit! We couldn’t have asked for a better property. Thanks again!
