Akualani Cottage by Destination Kauai - Poipu Bungalow A/C

E komo mai, welcome to "Akualani Kaua'i" in Poipu Beach Estates.

Experience nice tropical breezes and a gorgeous mountain view back drop. This house is in a great location on the South Shore of Kauai in Poipu Beach, within a short walking distance to sandy beaches, Kukuiula & Poipu Shopping Villages and adjacent to the Kiahuna Golf Course. Just 1/2 mile to the renowned Poipu Beach: great for swimming and snorkeling.

Enjoy mountain views from this 2-bd/1-ba home, the perfect vacation spot for up to 4 guests. One flight of stairs leads to this single level guest home. There is a full kitchen, spacious lanai, full size W/D on ground level, and air conditioning throughout. The primary bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed and TV; and the guest bedroom has two twin sized beds. There is a shared full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Shared driveway with the neighboring main home (1 vehicle maximum for this guest house). We are pleased to offer this vacation rental after a recent change in management.

This is a strictly non-smoking property.

CHECK-IN: 4:00pm / CHECK-OUT: 10:00am
PLAN ACCORDINGLY: We are not able to grant early check-ins and/or later check-outs in advance. Should you need to guarantee additional time in the unit, we do suggest booking the additional night to accommodate this.

Destination Kauai is a locally owned and family operated company. We offer contactless check-in for a seamless arrival. A 15% deposit is due at the time of booking. Refundable security deposit applies. We are committed to clean - this unit is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized for every guest arrival.

Additional guests and gatherings are not allowed.

We recommend enjoying the beautiful outdoors that Kaua'i has to offer. But if you need to stay connected, free wireless internet is provided.

For your convenience, we do provide some beach gear for your use: beach chairs, umbrella, small cooler, and beach towels. We also provide a starter supply of amenities and toiletries (soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, detergents).

Bright and Cheery Guest House!
This was an excellent find. It took a while searching through the properties, but this turned out to be wonderful. It is a lovely guest house with all the amenities. It is close to a shopping center and the beach. My wife was getting her Scuba certification at Seaport Divers, which was a 15-minute walk. (Also, it's a great place!) It is only a 10-minute walk to shopping and restaurants and 6 miles from Koloa Village, which you should visit during your stay. Full-size washer and dryer, great kitchen, and fully air-conditioned for those days with no breeze and hot. Well-stocked home. Anyway, we will rent again!

Koloa Stay
Our time in Koloa wasn’t what we expected. The island and especially Koloa experienced a huge rain storm that dropped over 14 inches of rain the weekend of our stay. Our cottage remained dry which was a huge relief! We were able to do a couple of hikes during the day as the rain fell mostly at night. We had one day of rain that kept us indoors. We spent that day relaxing at the cottage and making our own meals. The kitchen is well stocked with everything that is needed plus extras. We especially enjoyed making our own smoothies with fresh fruit. The air conditioner was not used as it was unusually cool due to the rains. There are many restaurants in the area as well.

Small but Beautiful
This place is so adorable and very clean. I was also very impressed with how well stock the kitchen amenities are. The only complaint that I have is that someone came and opened the garage on our last night while we were going to sleep for our early departure the next morning. The main bedroom is directly on top of the garage so I was startled when the I heard the door opening unexpectedly.

Great Home
Our stay was great! It was 2 adults and our 2 teen children. The place was easy to find, very clean, great location. First night we tried the blender and it was broken, easy to communicate with staff and the next day we had a new blender waiting for us. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again.

Un appartement exceptionnel
Cet appartement est parfait pour un séjour à Poipu. Dans un quartier résidentiel haut de gamme, bordé par un terrain de golf et à moins de 5 minutes de la plage de Poipu en voiture. L'appartement est extra propre, décoré et meublé avec classe. On y trouve tout ce dont on a besoin!

Castle on the Hill
This place was great!!! Clean, private, well appointed and conveniently located next to many beaches, shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the upper deck, where we spent much time relaxing and enjoying the views. The neighbourhood is very quiet as it is not a thoroughfare. We would definitely come back!!

Clean, cozy, convenient
A great home base for all of our adventures! Light and bright and good a/c and celing fans. Comfy bed and kitchen is great. Beach chairs and cooler and washer/drier all so helpful. Check in info via email and early info provided all very professional. Note it's a bit smaller than the wide angle photos make it seem, but it doesn't matter because you come here to see stuff, not lay around!

Beautiful Home!
My husband and two adult children stayed at this beautiful home on Kauai! The pictures are exactly what you get. It’s so comfortable and clean. I love how it was decorated and stocked. We were able to cook in the gorgeous kitchen and not need for anything. It’s really well located with Poipu beach a couple minutes down the road and great shopping and restaurants a couple of minutes in the other direction. I really appreciated the downstairs level being where we could clean up and hang wet stuff to dry. The second level living area has gorgeous views! I really can’t say enough. We will be staying there again! :)

Wonderful place!
Our stay here was fantastic. The house is clean and in a great location, close to the shops at Poipu and old town Koloa. We loved all of the thoughtful touches around the house, like the keys being on key leashes, the wonderful coffee, and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Perfect!

Kauai getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the Akualani Cottage. The property is immaculate, just like the photos. The kitchen is well stocked with with many small appliances that enhanced our stay. The lanai is a nice size and we enjoyed having our coffee while sitting outside. Having A/C in each of the rooms made for a comfortable stay. The beds were very comfortable as well. Communication with the owners was quick and efficient. Clear Instructions for the property were provided so that we were able to figure things out on our own. The Poipu Village Estates area is beautiful and close to restaurants, shops and beaches. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Kauai and will definitely consider another stay at the Akualani Cottage.

Poipu getaway
We really enjoyed our stay this week! The property had everything our family of four needed to be comfortable. The location is perfect - close to the beaches and local shops and restaurants, but just far enough away from the resorts to feel secluded and serene. The neighborhood is gorgeous. We really enjoyed ourselves and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for hosting!

Heavenly Beach Cottage
The property is located is a very quite neighborhood. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Located nearby to beaches, shopping and dining. We have stayed in many VRBOs. This heavenly beach cottage was an absolutely gem!

Excellent property
This was our family’s first trip to Kauai. The location of the property was just a short distance to the beach and shopping and was in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The only thing that would have been helpful was a laundry basket for hauling dirty/clean clothes up the stairs. We would definitely stay here again.

Never a bad day in Kauai
Perfect. That is about as simple and detailed an description I can give. The property is in a beautiful ara and positioned perfectly for access to multiple locations to check out. Shopping is within walking distance and if you need to do more Lihue is only a 20 minute drive away. We are looking forward to coming back and gope this property will still be available when we do. It was simply perfect.

Comfortable, clean, well-equipped spot in convenient location
I've stayed at many rental properties and this one had some of the nicest furniture and kitchen amenities of any place I've stayed. The place was spotless when we arrived, which I'm sure is a challenge since people stay here and go the beach daily and bring back sand on their feet. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. My wife and I enjoyed a few short walks around the neighborhood. I wouldn't recommend walking to beaches since the main road is busy, but there are a ton of restaurants and beaches within a 5-10m drive. The layout of the property was super convenient. The parking is right in front. We used the downstairs area for our boots and drying out our towels. We sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the nice weather. And the main room / kitchen was perfect for reading, cooking, and even a little bit of remote work. One other nice touch - there were plenty of hooks everywhere to hang clothes, bathing suits, and towels. Overall, this place was really nice and the hosts really thought out the layout and amenities to make it perfect for their guests. I highly recommend it.

The BEST!
We absolutely loved our stay! My *husband* and I got married while we were on Kauai and this was the perfect place to stay! The company was incredibly welcoming and communicated easily via text when needed. Check-in was perfect and we even met the owner's outside while we were there. They were so friendly and gave us great tips on where to go and what to do to make the most of our stay. The neighborhood was private and quiet - exactly what we wanted. We'd go back in a heart beat and stay here again - it was incredible!
