Our unit is a privately owned hotel room located in the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa.

Beautiful third floor unit with amazing views of the ocean and pools. Comfortable King bed.

The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian plantation-style resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard!

KAUAI RESORT AMENITIES
• 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool.
• Two whirlpool spas, one amidst a stone grotto and surrounded by lush ferns and an exotic waterfall.
• Three restaurants on site.
• "Take-Out" service available from the restaurants for guests
• Poolside Driftwood Bar and Grill
• Free Wi-Fi access in lobby, restaurants, and the pool areas.
• Hawaiian Rainforest Boutique Spa offering sauna, spa treatments, massages ect.
• Activities and tour desk.
• Guest laundry (coin operated located in building #1)
• Hertz car rental agency on-site..
• ATM, ice machines, purified water machines and vending machines.
• Fitness room
• Business center with computer.
• Fridge for your food, soda, wine, etc.
• In room, blow dryer, ironing board.
• There is a coffee maker in the room. (please bring the coffee and supplies you will need for the length of your stay) We will provide a starter pack for you.
There is also a Starbucks on site.
• 4 sets of bath and hand towels will be in the unit
4 Pool/Beach towels for use at the resort or for the beach. There is a $20.00 charge for each missing towel.

PARKING
• $40/day parking fee paid directly to Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICY
• Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 11:00 AM.
Check in procedure:
Simply check in at the front desk with your name and booking info.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
• Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay.
If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning.

As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa.

By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $25 per day resort fee charged by Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay.

FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM?
Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT
The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay.

DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN?
No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms.

ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT?
No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests.

WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE?
The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming.

SHOULD I GET A CAR?
We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental.

IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT?
No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which make taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island!

ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH?
Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels.

DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE?
Private owner guests are not required to pay the $25 daily resort fee.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE?
Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40/day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE?
YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. The signal extends into the lobby, restaurants, bars and in the pool area!

DOES THE UNIT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?

Great location. pretty grounds. Resturant options great. Only downfall is that too many people go down to pool 6am and place there towels and dont show up till 10-11am. So you couldnt sit by pool.

Lovely stay in Lihue
Very convenient to excursions to the north and south end of the island plus close to the airport. Multiple pools and two hot tubs. Saw a lovely sunrise every morning. Excellent location for couples and families.

Great location, beautiful views! Great stay!
Just got home from a 10 nights stay at this property. Beautiful views of the ocean, exactly as described. The room is large, clean, and provides everything you would need and then some. Keurig coffee maker, ice bucket, safe, hair dryer, iron. There is also a cooler, beach chairs, and a beach umbrella available for use. Check in and out was simple, and as described in the listing there is an additional parking fee which you take care of with the resort. No room cleaning without an additional fee. However we were provided a complimentary cleaning halfway through the stay, likely due to the length of the stay. The room is close to the elevator, and the resort is minutes from the airport and central to everything you would need in Kauai. Communication was great, we didn’t need much of it but the property owner reached out to check in a few times. Would highly recommend this property for your stay!

Kauai weather in October — perfect
Visiting in October offered sunshine followed by rainfall followed by warm weather followed by cleansing rain, etc. I loved it! 😎 Kauai Beach Resort is so lovely. Yoga on the beach was a bonus. The unit needs some repair — screen door torn out and screen falling off track; hair in the sink and crumbs on the dresser. The host is super responsive. I wanted to enjoy my brief vacay, so didn’t ask for repairs. Just thinking about future stays.

Exactly looks the way it's pictured on the website
Such a great deal for such a great location and resort. Multiple swimming pools, restaurants within the resort. We will definitely be coming back and looking for this VRBO room! The room was clean & comfortable, exactly as shown. The property was beautiful and well maintained, the staff was excellent as well. I liked this location as it was easy to get down to Poipu or up to Hanalei. Very close to Kapaa and to other shopping as well.

Fantastic experience
Room is nice, and the resort itself is fantastic. It’s a great place to relax when you get tired of driving around, with some great food/beverage options. We had an outstanding meal there on our last night in Kauai. Host was extremely helpful and friendly, with excellent and timely communication. Highly recommended.

The resort was nice, close to everything we wanted. However, the lights in the bathroom by the mirror didn't work or there was no way to turn them on that we could find. The refridgerator buzzed non-stop. There were 2 outlets in the room that did not work which forced us to use extension cortds and on the first night we stayed the fire alarm was triggered around 5 am. We enjoyed our stay at the resort, it was very pretty. However, for the price we expected outlets and lights that worked and not to be kept awake by buzzing appliances.

Very accommodating. Replied to all inquiries with haste and great detail. You have access to all amenities at the resort other than daily housekeeping, but if you stay 5+ days you get a complimentary housekeeping. The location has great centrality and you can get wherever you need to pretty easily. You definitely need a rental car to get around. Would book again.

Great room in a great property
Ive stayed at this resort before in a different listing, but I will absolutely be pulling this listing back up to stay at any time i return to Kauai. This resort is a beautiful proerty right on the ocean with a beautifully landscaped pool area that is somehow more beautiful in person. Two hot tubs (one is adults only with a waterfall), a sandy pool with poolside bar, and a spray off station just beside thr ocean were our most used and loved amenities. The lobby area feels very posh, and staff are quick, respectful, and always busy helping people. We used the laundry facility on site after a particularly muddy hike and everything was well maintained and seemed to be in good working condition. This room particularly was perfect - well decorated with a great view of the pool and ocean; insulated from any rooster noise in the morning, with beach stuff and a pretty large "mini"fridge that helped us keep some basic groceries in the room. The room smelled great and was close to the elevator, and the mid-week cleaners did a great job. This room is a great value and I would love to stay here again someday!

My favorite resort and room in Kauai
From the very minute I opened the door, I fell in love with this room! The first thing I noticed were the beautiful metal hangings of Hawaii which brought the beauty of the Island right inside room. It has a spacious refrigerator and freezer combo which not all rooms have, and is perfect for your stash of Ben and Jerry's. From the balcony, I relaxed to the sights and sounds of the lavish waterfalls, tropical birds, swaying palm trees and the distant ocean waves crashing on the shore. The bathroom is well equipped with plenty of fresh towels and fabulously scented products. And the linens, especially the quilt, is luxurious. Along with amenities like a nicely sized TV, single coffee maker with a variety of pods, the room was clean and smelled lovely. I've stayed in the room before but with the recent upgrades, I love it even more. Rick is super nice and responsive and is there if you need anything. This room at this resort has become my home away from home. I give it 5 hibiscis 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺

Beautiful resort in central location
Lovely resort with a central location for touring the island. Pool area with 3 pools and 2 hot tubs. Beach is perfect for sunrise as well as watching the waves and crabs - not so much for swimming. Shutters Lounge has live music and a tasty mai tai. If you are looking for a resort stay with a hotel room feel, this is a good fit.

Everything we wanted and everything we needed. Just a quick 10 min ride to/from the airport on the east side of the island. the location is ideal and convenient. On site the property had everything we needed, dining options, 4 pools and 2 hot tubs, tiki bar and best of all, just a few steps from the ocean. We had a great view of the ocean and perfect sunrises. All in all, we were very happy with everything and will definitely come back again.

Good central location if you want to see all sides of island
The friendliness of staff was not great, check-in was fast but the lady seemed annoyed to have to check me in. She was not friendly or welcoming and just let me stand there until another worker said she could help me, basically forcing her to do it. The room was clean, could use sturdier boogie boards, had cooler to use and umbrella and chairs. That is great as most rooms are ran by hotel and probably don't have this. There was a drip in the shower and screen door to patio was off. The beach here is rough, rocky and not very swimmable, but if you don't care about that it's not a problem. There are not many people on the beach and you can walk it for a long while so that is still very nice. The pool area is very nice and they have several pools and one is sand bottom. Lots of people taking advantage of the water volleyball pool. They have water filter for filling bottles on the fifth floor, that was nice to have as well.

I couldn’t ask for a better place!
First and foremost the room was perfect. The hotel restaurants were great. Tons of amenities. Second we had a minor hiccup while there, I contacted Rick, and boom! Immediate response and immediately he had it taken care. I loved my stay and the cleaning staff was friendly, Rick was awesome, and I would hands down recommend it.

Great spot to explore, yet enjoy
Rick is an excellent host and very responsive for all questions/ needs. This room is exactly as depicted. It’s small and best suited for a couple. We did travel with our ten year old, and brought a queen size air mattress for him. It was tight, but it worked for us, with the mindset being that we wouldn’t be spending much time in the room. We spent our mornings out exploring, and our afternoons at the pool which is very family friendly, and the slide was great for him. The room was clean, the resort is well kept. Shutters is also a great restaurant on site, fair prices, never had to wait for a table, with live music nightly and happy hour from 5-6 daily.
