Beach Notes
Many beaches around Grand Cayman are protected by Ironshore along the shoreline, and while you may notice a small amount of Ironshore at Far Tortuga, there is plenty of soft, white sand for our guests to enjoy. The beach provides easy access to the water for activities like kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming. Right in front of the house lies the Barrier Reef, offering protected snorkeling just waiting for you to explore. For foot protection, water shoes or fins are recommended, given the abundant marine life and coral. While beaches in Grand Cayman may occasionally experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed, which is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has become more frequent in recent years, it is mostly seasonal, particularly in the summer. We make every effort to remove heavy sargassum and ensure the beach is raked and ready for you before your arrival, so you can fully enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
