Unbeatable Location in Heart of Historic Savannah by Lucky Savannah

Centered in the Heart of the Historic District, Modern Retreat is on tree-lined Oglethorpe Avenue, within walking distance of everything Savannah has to offer! After undergoing an extensive renovation, no detail was spared while furnishing this space. Located in the YWCA Building established in 1903, you'll be enriched in history from the moment you step into the building.

Take the elevator or stairs up to the second floor where Modern Retreat awaits your arrival. Boasting with tall ceilings and natural light, each room has been finished with cool tones and comfortable furnishings. The gathering room has an ample amount of seating for your entire party to gather; whether you're watching a movie, playing a card game or preparing for a day of adventure, there is room for everyone! Beyond this space, you'll find the tastefully designed kitchen with brand new stainless steel appliances. You'll have everything needed to prepare home cooked, intimate meals and cocktails.

The primary bedroom can be found just past the living room and features a King bed, smart television, and a spacious closet for all of your belongings. Each room features a luxurious an ensuite bathroom with shower/tub combo that have been fully remodeled. Natural light fills the second bedroom, which also features a plush King size bed, a smart television, and a large closet.

You’ll be steps away from the city’s most sought after attractions – bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Savannah Theatre, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more – are all within easy walking distance.

Parking: Metered Parking
This unit has on-street, metered parking which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday from 8am to 8pm. You have the option of feeding the meter, parking in a nearby parking garage, or buying a parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center.

We can welcome your dog companions at this pet friendly home, but ask that you find other arrangements for cats, birds, and other furry friends. There is a $130 pet fee (non-refundable) with a 35 lb. maximum weight limit per dog and a limit of 2 dogs per reservation. Some homes may allow larger dogs, please inquire for more information.

Very nice!
We loved Modern Retreat. It is a perfect place for two couples with both bedrooms having their own bathroom. It is easy walking distance to all places in Historic Savannah District. Very clean and had everything we needed.

Nice location in Savannah
We met another couple in Savannah for a long weekend. The place was very nice. We had some issues upon entry as The Address given on VRBO was different than what was on the building. But we figured it out. Also there were two keys in the lock box and one did not fit the outside door nor the door to the condo. But we figured it out just using one key and the code to get in the unit. Otherwise a great place

Great place!
Loved your place! We had a little bit of an issue finding it, but the property management was so kind and sent someone to assist us. They were very responsive. We loved the house, it was quiet and very clean. The area was perfect for all we wanted to see all over Savannah.

We had a great time and loved staying here. The place is so comfortable and very clean. The best part is that it is centrally located and walking distance to everything in downtown Savannah. We will definitely stay here again when we make another trip to this beautiful city!

Came to get our daughter moved into her new apartment. Made sure our visit included time to explore Savannah. The apartment was centrally located, walking distance to most of Historic Savannah . It was clean, well appointed, with comfortable beds and furniture

Trip to Savannah with friends
Everything was wonderful except for the checkin process. We were given a code to open the lockbox to get our key to the building. However, there were 12 lockboxes and none were labeled. We tried them over and over, (unfortunately in a pouring down rain) and tried to contact the management. finally got help identifying the correct lockbox which was not even close to the front door. Once we got in it was lovely and we throughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. We would absolutely recommend this unit. Just please change the check in procedure.

The apartment was exactly what the pics looked like. The only complaint is it is in a very noisy location so if you are going to get sleep bring ear plugs or a sound machine.

Beautiful Apartment
The start of our experience was rocky. They switched our location of our apartment. In the app and what was texted to me were codes to get into the building and the apartment were incorrect. Once I called the help desk they were nice and helped us out. The apartment was beautifully decorated and the space was perfect for what we needed. The location is perfect! We will definitely stay here again.

The property was just as advertised. it was clean and in a great location to walk to so many places in Savannah. Finding the key for the property among other locks was a challenge but whenever we called with an issue, the office answered each time to help us.

Most Excellent!
The apartment is lovely, furniture very comfortable, including the beds. Conveniently located to walk from Forsyth Park down to the river - never needed to use our car. Would definitely stay here whenever I travel back to Savannah!

Perfect for our Fall visit
We loved our stay at the Modern Retreat. The space was immaculately clean and had plenty of towels, extra bedding and kitchen supplies. The bedrooms were very spacious and we loved the 2 ensuite bathrooms.My only minor complaint was the single building key that needed to be shared. Between my husband and I, we were able to figure it out, but I can imagine if you had a larger party, this might cause some headaches.

Savannah Trip
The only issue was locating the key box (which they did fix and labeled it). There are multiple boxes for other units, and this one is off to the side of the rest. Also, only 1 key for everyone so you have to be on the same page with leaving and ensuring the key is back in the box. The place itself was decent and really did work out. Location is great and they are super responsive. It's clean and has everything you need. Be sure to have a streaming service for the TV if you want to watch.

Absolutely perfect for our visit
This was our first time visiting Savannah and we loved it! This property was exactly what we needed and higher end than expected. It was cool staying at a renovated YMCA that still held the charm on the outside and hallways but was beautifully renovated in the unit itself. I would definitely stay here again, especially since now I know how to avoid minor check-in snafu.
