Lakeview 2 is directly across the road from the Lake and playgrounds, so plenty of choices for the children and an un-obstructed view that can be enjoyed. Waratah is pretty sleepy town that will allow you to slow down and recharge. There are limited facilities, so it is advisable to purchase your grocery items in places like Burnie. Waratah does have a Roadhouse where you can buy basic grocery items, takeaway and fuel for your vehicle. The Bischoff Hotel serves good meals, takeaway and you can always drop in for a morning coffee. If you are not wanting to go on a trail walk - you can see the Waratah Waterfall from across the road from The Bischoff Hotel. You can also stroll around the Waratah Lake spying the bird life and if your lucky a Platypus or two.
Waratah is full of heritage and interesting facts related to it's mining past. During your stay - pop into the Museum, the Stampers Mill or Anthaneum Hall to look into the past. There are many hints of the mining past, such as the water wheel and remainder of buildings that can be seen at the Waratah Waterfall.
