Know before you book

  • All flights are subject to real time availability of the tour operator. If unavailable, an alternative time or full refund will be provided.
  • Maximum weight 250 lbs (113 kg) per person and 500 lbs (226 kg) combined in R44 helicopter.
  • Recommended minimum age is 14.
  • Flights are available between 8 AM - 2 PM daily, weather and maintenance permitting.

What you can expect

Make your dreams of piloting a helicopter come true with a lesson that lets you learn the basics from an expert pilot. Your experience includes engaging ground instruction before the chance to take to the skies and navigate aircraft yourself.

Arrive at the Ross Aviation West hangar and meet an experienced pilot who's excited to pass his passion for flight on to you. Spend some time going over the basics on the ground to get familiar with the Robinson R44 helicopter and its controls. Your pilot is happy to answer any questions you have and help you feel comfortable and confident as you prepare for liftoff.

Settle into your seat and feel the chopper's rotors roar as you ascend high above the beautiful Hudson Valley, watching your pilot in action while soaking up 360-degree views. Finally, if you're feeling up for it, take the controls yourself and feel the thrill of being a pilot. (Lessons are not permitted in NYC airspace.)
