"We were very impressed with the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. The check in went smoothly and our unit was ready for us. The resort is very clean and the staff made sure it stayed that way. It’s ideally located if you don’t want to explore the island and stay put. There are a number of very good restaurants within the immediate walking area or just a short drive away. The beach and pool areas are exceptionally clean with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The only problem we found is...

"Food was great! A majority of the staff was great! Tried the rooms with Bali beds out front and that was a waste of money. No view and filled with ants. Get a higher room with an ocean view. The beach was useless as it is steep and ground seashells for sand. That said, you cannot beat the view of Simpson Bay. Great island and will be back when they rebuild. I would just stay at a sister property near the airport next time."

"Sonesta was alright as a whole. The good things about this resort is the facilities and the options and selections of restaurants, drinks etc. The bad things about the place is definitely the service. I have rarely experienced such bad service on a holiday. The service (or lack thereof) was mainly an issue in the restaurants, where the staff was rude. I even had a waiter rolling her eyes because I asked for a baby chair. "

"Loved Oyster Bay resort. The room we stayed in was spacious and a bit worn but clean. The shower needs updating off the master and the water pressure was low. The staff were mostly friendly. The food was good except options limited on Valentine day dinner and Thurs buffet was not great for the amount of money charged the buffet food was very salty.
